The Joys of Riding in the Summer.

The Joys of Riding in the Summer. When the temperatures climb into the 100’s many in Tucson abandon their bikes for the cooler confines of air condition.  Personally,  I find the summer offers some of the best riding.   Two of my regular rides start 5:20AM on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.  The sun is up, my gear is only a bib, jersey and 2 water  bottles.  I can go from my 2nd snooze button to my ride in under 5 minutes.  Continue Reading ››

Community Bike Rides May 12-18 2018

This coming Wednesday at 5:00PM is one of the most important rides of the year and I really hope you can make it. Please bring you friends, family, acquaintances, the guy you meet riding this weekend and your entire cycling team. It is the Ride of Silence. I get it, none of us want to think of the dangers posed by riding on the road. This ride forces us to confront that reality.  However, it is also an opportunity for Continue Reading ››

Community Ride List

Friday, May 4th, is one of the time-honored rides in Tucson & my recommendation for the best road ride this week. For details & to register see the Greater Arizona Bicycle Asso. website.  The ride is  the GABA Mt Lemmon Hill Climb. GABA provides four SAG stops, about six miles apart, with fluids, munchies, and healthy carbs. In honor of the pie shop that once operated in Summerhaven near the summit, the uppermost SAG will serve a variety of Continue Reading ››

Community Ride List

So many rides, so little time. I have a sad tale to tell.  I’m sacrificing riding my bike for selling real estate. The market is popping. 22 years ago when I was new in the business an old agent (she was in her 80’s, about 4’6” with another 8 inches of finely styled thin silver hair) told me some wisdom she learned when she was a young agent in the 40’s. She said “Lordy, lordy lordy, please give me one Continue Reading ››

Community Ride List for the holiday season

My holiday gift to you. Once again, the ride list. I do hope you have used it this year and it’s adding a little value to your riding experience. OMG. OMG. OMG!!!! The Loop is completely paved! The county finished the last section from Tanque Verde to Craycroft TODAY! But the fences are not down as of the time I’m typing this. I expect they should be down next week. I’ll share the news as soon as I see it! Continue Reading ››
