Ride list for the week of August 17, 2018

It’s that time of the year that the ride options start to increase. Many of the charities that El Tour benefit have training rides. This week, Tu Nidito has it’s first ride. It will leave from 3922 N. Mountain Ave at 6AM. Have you heard about the 110 Acres Bike Park? There is a public open house at Yellow Brick Coffee, 3220 S. Dodge Blvd, August 18 at 9AM. Yellow Brick is not far from Aviation Bike Path and might … Continue reading Ride list for the week of August 17, 2018

Why You Should Ride in Local events like El Tour

Are you ready to ride? This November, Tucson will be hosting the 36th installment of El Tour.  I frequently hear from cyclists who don’t ride that the El Tour de Tucson just costs too much money. I get it! I get that it can be really challenging to pay someone else simply to ride my bike in my home town.  With all the other expenses in life, some days it is challenging enough just to keep my bikes maintained – … Continue reading Why You Should Ride in Local events like El Tour

The Joys of Riding in the Summer.

The Joys of Riding in the Summer. When the temperatures climb into the 100’s many in Tucson abandon their bikes for the cooler confines of air condition.  Personally,  I find the summer offers some of the best riding.   Two of my regular rides start 5:20AM on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.  The sun is up, my gear is only a bib, jersey and 2 water  bottles.  I can go from my 2nd snooze button to my ride in under 5 minutes.  … Continue reading The Joys of Riding in the Summer.

Community Bike Rides May 12-18 2018

This coming Wednesday at 5:00PM is one of the most important rides of the year and I really hope you can make it. Please bring you friends, family, acquaintances, the guy you meet riding this weekend and your entire cycling team. It is the Ride of Silence. I get it, none of us want to think of the dangers posed by riding on the road. This ride forces us to confront that reality.  However, it is also an opportunity for … Continue reading Community Bike Rides May 12-18 2018

Friday, May 4th, is one of the time-honored rides in Tucson & my recommendation for the best road ride this week. GABA provides four SAG stops, about six miles apart, with fluids, munchies, and healthy carbs. In honor of the pie shop that once operated in Summerhaven near the summit, the uppermost SAG will serve a variety of … Continue reading Community Ride List

Community Ride List

So many rides, so little time. I have a sad tale to tell.  I’m sacrificing riding my bike for selling real estate. The market is popping. 22 years ago when I was new in the business an old agent (she was in her 80’s, about 4’6” with another 8 inches of finely styled thin silver hair) told me some wisdom she learned when she was a young agent in the 40’s. She said “Lordy, lordy lordy, please give me one … Continue reading Community Ride List
