DESCRIPTION:When:\nDecember 5\, 2026  7:30am \nWhere:\nWe’ll be hosted by the #1 Trail Angel of the Tour Divide (Kirsten of the famed Brush and Mountain Lodge) who now has a home in Anthem\, AZ and is letting us stage the ride from her casa – 2307 West Desert Hills Drive\, 85086. \nParking: fill her front yard. Then overflow parking along 23rd Ave. Let’s try to keep Desert Hills Dr. clear this year. \nPlease bring a beverage & snacks to share for post-ride. Let’s show Kirsten how we roll here in AZ!! \nWhat:\nThis is a big loop around Lake Pleasant – almost 60 miles. It will include some trail\, some dirt roads and some other stuff. You may have to get slightly creative with routing on the north end of the lake – depending on lake levels. Same with riding along the Agua Fria. Could be “interesting” if the river is high. \nRoute:\nAs always\, it is HIGHLY recommended that you bring\, and know how to use\, a GPS for this race. There will be no maps or cue sheets. \nPleasantville_route \nBonus: New for 2022 is a slight diversion (.3 miles down a dirt road) on the north side of the lake to to check out Solo Spring. Take a selfie at the spring and get a 20 minute bonus. Also\, there is water behind that concrete wall – a couple of feet deep. Good for filtering if you are low.

SUMMARY:SDMB Poker Ride
DESCRIPTION:The SDMB Poker Ride is one of those events that captures what the Tucson mountain bike community is all about. Expect a who’s who of the local MTB scene\, plenty of laughs\, libations along the route\, and a massive pile of prizes. Ride from station to station collecting cards\, build your best poker hand\, and see what you take home. With enough prizes that practically everyone walks away with something\, this one is much more about community and fun than finishing times. \nIf you ride mountain bikes and want to become part of the Tucson mountain bike community\, this is one of those rides you need to experience. \nBut perhaps you’re a runner. You’re welcome too. Come out and make the mountain bikers question their life choices as you fly past them on the climbs and technical sections. \nBikes\, trails\, friends\, libations\, questionable poker skills\, and a whole lot of Tucson MTB culture.

SUMMARY:Dawn to Dusk Arizona
DESCRIPTION:Dawn to Dusk Arizona is 12 hours of mountain biking on some of the most enjoyable desert singletrack in the Phoenix area. Held at McDowell Mountain Regional Park outside Scottsdale\, the race uses much of the Pemberton Trail system on a 16+ mile loop with less than 1\,000 feet of climbing per lap. \nThe course is approachable enough for newer mountain bikers but still plenty of fun for experienced racers. Each lap begins with a gradual climb before working through Cinch\, Scenic and Pemberton Trails\, then dropping onto Bluff and Granite and eventually returning to the Four Peaks Staging Area. The reward is a fast\, fun finish and expansive views of the Sonoran Desert throughout the course. \nWhat makes Dawn to Dusk especially appealing is that you can decide just how much suffering you want. Race it solo for the full 12 hours\, grab a partner and race as a duo\, or put together a team of three or four and turn it into an all-day mountain bike party. There are junior\, age-group\, single-speed\, male\, female and coed categories\, along with a corporate division for teams of up to seven riders. \nWhether you’re chasing laps\, trying your first endurance mountain bike race\, or spending the day trading laps with friends\, Dawn to Dusk combines a great course\, beautiful desert scenery and the camaraderie that makes endurance mountain bike events so much fun.
