SUMMARY:The Whiskey Off Road
DESCRIPTION:WHISKEY OFF-ROAD\nApril 24-26\, 2026 \nPrescott\, AZ \nREGISTER SCHEDULE RESULTS\n\n\nStarting on Prescott’s historical (and lively) Whiskey Row and climbing into the beautifully distracting views of Prescott National Forest\, riders will connect some of the area’s most exhilarating (and challenging) pieces of singletrack\, double track\, gravel roads\, and the occasional paved segment. \nDuring your visit to Prescott\, enjoy three fun-filled days of event festivities and being submerged in the mountain bike industry. Mingle with the most bike-minded people you’ll ever encounter while appreciating the area’s wild wild west heritage and feeling welcomed by its modern-day appreciation for the outdoor enthusiast. \nWith a finisher’s award in the form of a well-earned commemorative pint glass emblazoned with the distance you’ve finished and the comfort of the former Arizona Territorial capitol’s shaded lawn waiting at the finish line for all Off-Road participants…this is a finish line that will make every mile worth the effort. \nThe ‘Whiskey’ has a 94% finish rate. However\, it’s no walk in the park \n

SUMMARY:Dirty Bunny
DESCRIPTION:drinking’ of the greatest events of all time. The Dirty Bunny is everything good about Mountain Biking all distilled into an incredible weekend. It’s a drinking ride with a bike problem. It is a race. It is timed. There are winners. But if that is all you care about\, it might not be the event for you (but it might). It’s about the community. Gathering with like minded people in the desert and having a great time. There is drinking and other mind altering good times (riding bikes can take you to magical and mysterious places). People dress in costumes. Some even wear spandex. \nIn many ways it is 24 hours in the Old Pueblo for the locals\, but with a small entry fee of $10 to cover incidentals and a 6 pack of craft beer. That is CRAFT beer with an F. Not any of that F’ing CRAP beer. Don’t be showing up with your PBR for the entry fee… but feel free to bring your bud light\, PBR or  dos equis for the lush bunny. What’s the lush Bunny you ask? Why that would be the same race\, but with the consumption of a can of piss water each lap. \nSo\, if you think you are one of the The cool cats\, The in crowd\, Those in the Knows\, this might be the event for you. \nA few videos from past events to give you a vibe. \nhttps://www.facebook.com/damion.alexander.9/videos/2069049946801997 \nhttps://www.facebook.com/damion.alexander.9/videos/196962712478668

SUMMARY:THE SPIRIT WORLD 100
DESCRIPTION:Dear gravel riders\, soul surfers & anyone who uses the bike to escape time…  \nWe are Heidi Rentz & Zander Ault \nWe’re co-creators\, gravel cyclists\, chefs & party animals. We’re so freaking excited to see you in Patagonia\, Arizona for a gravel road race that has inspired every aspect of our lives.   \nThe Spirit World 100 is a down home gravel road expedition that has been in creation for 4 years. We’ve been exploring the outer reaches of our abilities to be spirited entrepreneurs in an attempt to bring something from another universe to the event scene. Our main goal is to connect more people through our contagious love for riding bikes\, cooking and throwing a mean party. Now\, we just need all you special humans to bring your creative and powerful energy to the desert southwest.   \nThe Spirit World 100 and 50-mile course options are 2 of our most coveted and adored gravel routes in southern Arizona. Each course option is a reflection of the thousands of hours we’ve spent soaring through the San Rafael Valley since 2015. In order to showcase one of the Nations best remote and purely quiet destinations\, we have partnered with the Town of Patagonia to invite riders and their families to the high desert. Obsessed with the landscape of the borderlands region\, we’ve studied the maps of this area and are working closely with regional government\, land management and private entities to make this place more accessible for the entire gravel cycling community. We want to help redefine the future of outdoor recreational tourism in the greater Tucson and borderlands region of The Copper State and The Spirit World 100 will be a key player in this mission.    \nIf we said this wasn’t a race\, we’d just sound ridiculous. Any time you place 100’s of riders on the start line\, it’s a race! This race is a place to find the answer to why challenging ourselves in unfamiliar conditions is so sought after. We’re only human and we were put on this earth to move\, sweat\, be affected and feel the power of confidence that our raw and natural surroundings can instill. The Spirit World 100 is a celebration of exactly what you’re searching for every time you jump on your bike. You’re welcomed in\, wholeheartedly.  \nTucson\, Arizona is our home. When we aren’t there\, we’re hosting private gravel and road cycling camps around the globe. For sometime now\, we’ve wanted to create an event that everybody felt comfortable committing to. Cycling camps aren’t for everybody. They may never meet your personal schedule or provide enough of what you’re looking for in a vacation. The Spirit World 100 has been designed to deliver fun\, challenge and growth oriented human interaction over the course of 4 days. We couldn’t be more excited to show you Patagonia\, Arizona and the San Rafael Valley. See you in The Spirit World! \nTeeth to the wind\,

SUMMARY:Ride the Arizona Divide
DESCRIPTION:CLICK HERE FOR INTERACTIVE MAP \nFor those interested a group of individuals will be riding the 450 mile Ride the Arizona Divide route starting September 23rd. Why 9/23? It’s  simply the best time of the year to ride the White Mountains and Northeast Arizona! The are no entry fees or registration. The route uses public roads\, anyone can join in. This is not an organized or sanctioned event in any way. Each rider is responsible for their navigation and well being. We will be following the current route posted on this page.  For those that want to start at the same time meet at Tall Timbers Park in the community of Heber AZ at 6:00AM on September 23rd. Do not leave your vehicle at the park. \nIf you own a tracking device (e.g.\, SPOT\, Garmin InReach) and would like friends and relatives to view your progress or have a record of your ride you can register your device with the Trackleaders service. More info can be found on their website: http://trackleaders.com/ They are not affiliated with us\, AZ Gravel Rides or Ride Across Arizona. \nAll updates for the route will be posted here and here only! No emails\, texts\, FB messages or Instagram messages. If you have anything you would like to share (water sources\, camp spots\, etc.) please forward them on to us and we’ll get them shared here. \nWe view RAD as a long\, hard unofficial ultra endurance cycling challenge that tests our perseverance\, self sufficiency and competence. It’s also a fantastic workout! The idea behind the Grand Depart type of start is to be able to have a like minded group of individuals on the route at the same time to boost camaraderie and safety. However\, be advised\, this is not a “group” ride. You will be on your own most of the time but might be lucky enough to encounter another rider here and there. It’s that simple. Ride as far as you can as fast as you can and above all try to remain positive and have fun. \nUniversally Accepted Rider Etiquette:\nGeneral:\n– Complete the entire route under your own power.\n– LEAVE NO TRACE.  If you carry it in\, carry it out.  The goal is to keep the area we are rolling through better than we found it.\n– Follow all traffic laws. You must use lights when riding at night on any public road.\n– Unless you can actually see another rider coming behind you\, always close a gate you open\n– No trespassing. Please respect private property. \nPopular ways to ride the RAD course and accepted definitions from other similar rides:\nSelf-supported Bikepacking (example: Tour Divide)\nSolo Riders: \n– No support crews or caches of any kind.\n– No motorized transport along the route.\n– Unplanned support from a fellow rider is allowed.\n– Gas stations\, restaurants\, hotels\, campgrounds\, and any other commercial services along the route are fair game as long as they are not pre-arranged.\n– If your bike breaks and you wish to continue the ride\, you must hike\, walk or crawl to the next town to get it repaired. Once fixed\, you must return\, under your own power\, to the exact spot you left the route. This is a completely self-powered ride. If you get in a  motorized vehicle\, your ride is over (you may switch to the supported category**).\n– You may ride with other people\, but drafting is not allowed. \nDuo Riders (same as above except):\n– You and your partner may share resources.\n– You and your partner should stay together for the duration of the ride.\n– Drafting off your partner is allowed. \nSupported (example: RAAM)\nSolo Riders:\n– Support vehicles allowed to follow along and provide assistance (high clearance vehicle required\, 4wd highly recommended).*\n– Any number of bicycles or replacement parts may be used during the ride.\n– If a rider makes a wrong turn and rides off the event route\, regardless of the reason\, the rider must return (either riding or support vehicle) to the exact spot where the course deviation was made\, then continue riding.\n– No hand offs or mechanical support from a moving vehicle. \nRelay Team (same rules for supported riders as above except):\n– Riders share and exchange a single tracking device.\n– Riders determine when to exchange.\n– Both riders can ride at the same time sharing pulls and drafting\, you decide what is best for your team.

SUMMARY:Gloridays
DESCRIPTION:At Zia Rides\, we pride ourselves our family friendly fun weekends. We might have finally outdone ourselves\, as we invite you to come spend Labor Day weekend at Glorieta Camps for what will essentially be a weekend at bike camp! In addition to a full schedule of bike races\, the weekend will also include live music\, food trucks\, games and activities for the kids hosted by our NICA NM friends\, and hopefully so much more. \nIf you haven’t been to mountain bikesyet\, the riding is phenomenal\, and the trails surround a full service summer camp with a swimming lake\, water slide\, zip lines\, a pump track\, and so many other fun things to do. And in addition to camping spots\, there are rooms onsite available to reserve for you and the whole team or family. So we mean it when we say that we want you to spend the weekend at bike camp. \nZia Rides will be leading action on Saturday with several endurance mountain bike events to choose from. The headline event is the 50ish mile “Blaze of Glori” that will take riders on most of the trails around Glorieta including the epic climb up Ghost Town.  For those that aren’t ready to get their butts completely kicked\, we are also offering the 25 mile “Path to Glori”\, which will do all of the epic singletrack around Glorieta minus the Ghost Town climb. Finally\, we want to offer something for everyone\, so we will be doing a 6 hour race\, the “Laps to Glori”\, on some of the easier trails around Glorieta including an adaptive bike category on the Route 66 adaptive trail at Glorieta. \n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Kaibab 140 and 230 - Arizona Endurance Series
DESCRIPTION:Date says June 1\, But this in an ITT and the recommended dates are june- September\n\n \nWhat:\nYour choice of one of two loop options (140 mile and 230 mile) on the fabulous Kaibab Plateau. While there is plenty of dirt roads there are also some awesome views of the west canyon (and a little of the east side) and amazing meadows north of the park border on the AZT. There is an optional\, but totally worth it\, out and back to Point Sublime. \nWhen:\nITT. So you get to decide when you do it. Recommend June-September. \nWhere:  Here are the two options. \nThe main loop starts at Jacob Lake and follows mostly dirt roads to the north rim of the Grand Canyon. From there the route follows the Arizona Trail back to Jacob lake. This is a stout 2 days of riding\, or a more reasonable 3 day route. \nThe other option adds in a loop to State Line campground. Both of these routes are worthy. \nRoute:\nKaibab_230_route \nKaibab_140_route \n \n

There is NO PARKING at the Topock Route 66 Bar\, this is just a convenient meeting place for the start located directly on the river. \nIf you own a tracking device (e.g.\, SPOT\, Garmin InReach) and would like friends and relatives to view your progress or have a record of your ride you can register your device with the Trackleaders service. More info can be found on their website: http://trackleaders.com/ They are not affiliated with AZ Gravel Rides or Ride Across Arizona. \nWe view RAAZ as a long\, hard unofficial ultra endurance cycling challenge that tests our perseverance\, self sufficiency and competence. Ride as far as you feel like and above all try to remain positive and have fun. The scenery is stunning and the length of the ride becomes an adventure. \n\nUniversally Accepted Rider Etiquette:\nGeneral:\n– Complete the entire route under your own power.\n– Aerobars and their accessories are allowed\n– For the purpose of this ride a bicycle is defined as a vehicle consisting of a frame mounted on two wheels one behind the other\, and having a seat\, handlebars for steering\, two hand-operated brakes\, and propelled solely by the operator via two pedals connected to the rear wheel by a chain or belt.\n– LEAVE NO TRACE. \nPopular ways to ride the RAAZ course and accepted definitions from other similar rides:\nSelf-Supported Bikepacking (example: Tour Divide)\nSolo:\n– No support crews or caches of any kind.\n– No motorized transport along the route.\n– Unplanned support from a fellow rider is allowed.\n– Gas stations\, restaurants\, hotels\, campgrounds\, and any other commercial services along the route are fair game as long as they are not pre-arranged.\n– If your bike breaks and you wish to continue the ride\, you must hike\, walk or crawl to the next town to get it repaired. \nSupported (example: RAAM)\nSolo:\n– Support vehicles allowed to follow along and provide assistance (high clearance vehicle recommended).*\n– Any number of bicycles or replacement parts may be used during the ride.\n– If a rider makes a wrong turn and rides off the event route\, regardless of the reason\, the rider must return (either riding or support vehicle) to the exact spot where the course deviation was made\, then continue riding.\n– No hand offs or mechanical support from a moving vehicle. \nRelay Team (same guidance as for supported riders except):\n– Riders share and exchange a single tracking device.\n– Riders determine when to exchange.\n– Riders can ride at the same time sharing pulls and drafting\, you decide what is best for your team. \n

SUMMARY:Camp Wood Roundup Gravel Ride
DESCRIPTION:Camp Wood Road\nWhen exiting the Bar-Triangle Ranch onto Williamson Valley Road\, the first mile and a half will be a neutral roll-out. The race will begin once the pavement ends and you turn left onto Camp Wood Road. This is a wide open gravel road that gradually slopes upwards before reaching a 7-mile\, 1000-foot climb at approximately 10 miles into the loop. Around the 14-mile mark\, the road will top out\, followed by a sweeping descent towards Walnut Creek Rd. \nphoto credit: Dirty Freehub \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWalnut Creek Road\nAt 15.5 miles\, riders turn right onto Walnut Creek Road (FR 95)\, a rustic Jeep road. It has many twists and turns and crosses several streams (dry and/or wet). The road mostly goes downhill\, with some steep parts. There are some short “kickers” with inclines as steep as 14%. Eventually\, you will reach Williamson Valley Road. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWilliamson Valley Road\n\n\n\n\n\nBack on a smooth gravel road\, Williamson Valley Road runs to the north. At a bit past 28 miles\, you’ll see a steel-truss bridge that appears misplaced in this remote landscape. Once a smaller part of a grand seven-span bridge that succumbed to floods in 1916\, it now stands here\, relocated and rebuilt by the AZ Highway Department in 1936. You’ll complete the loop and head back into the Bar-Triangle Ranch. 88-mile riders will turn right on Camp Wood Road for a second loop. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWHERE/WHEN \n\n\n\n\nPrescott\, AZ – May 4\, 2024\n\n\n\n\nThe Start/Finish venue will be at the Bar-Triangle Ranch\, a working cattle ranch.  This is the site the former site of the tiny hamlet of Simmons\, where a stage stop and post office once operated. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n88 miles and 46 mile routes\n\n\n\n\nMAP & GPX file (88)\n\n\n\n\nMAP & GPX file (46)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nACCOMODATIONS \n\n\n\n\nMany hotels\, motels\, homestays in the nearby towns of Prescott\, Prescott Valley and Prescott National Forrest

SUMMARY:Tommy Knocker 10
DESCRIPTION:For those that don’t know\, we lost two giants of the Silver City community in October 2022\, Alex Olsen and Martyn Pearson. Not only did Alex and Martyn own the local bike shop\, Gila Hike and Bike\, they were also heavily involved with the local high school teams as coaches. As for Zia Rides\, Alex was a long time Zia Rides employee and close friend\, and Martyn was a true driving force behind the Tommyknocker. The Tommy Knocker 10 is now dedicated to Alex and Martyn\, so help us keep their memory alive every year by making Tommy Knocker our biggest and best event. \nWith the help of the Villag \nand the USFS we officially moved the event venue onto the grounds of Historic  in 2023. For those that made it in 2023\, you are fully aware what an amazing improvement this was to the event. Better venue and a new and improved course make the Tommy Knocker 10 a great start to the Zia Rides Season. \nCurve through the beautiful grasslands surrounded by enormous juniper and cottonwood trees\, get a little bit wet riding through fun stream crossings\, and see beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and meadows. The course is an intermediate 13+ mi. loop with less than 1000 feet elevation gain. \nBring the whole family for a weekend of killer riding\, hanging out in the spooky but cool Fort Bayard staging area\, and then go for a soak in local hot springs while sightseeing in the Gila Wilderness area. The Tommy Knocker 10 makes for an amazing getaway weekend of recreation and fun. We hope to see you there!

SUMMARY:Beginner Overnighter to Colossal Cave State Park
DESCRIPTION:***If you would like to join this ride but it is cost prohibitive to do so or if you need to borrow gear to make it happen\, please let us know. \nWe’ll be leaving Campfire Cycling at around 9AM for a +/- 30 mile ride down the loop (Paved bike path) most of the way to Colossal Cave State Park We’ll be staying at a group campground with room for 20 tents. We will also be setting aside a middle meetup option for folks that don’t want to/can’t ride the full 30 miles. \nOn our Community Events/Rides we follow our Campfire Code of Conduct. We strive to create a positive and supportive environment where everyone feels welcome and heard. We don’t assume anyone’s abilities based on outwards appearance. We take responsibility for our actions and words. We respect the land\, it’s original stewards and leave no trace. \nIf this is your first bikepacking trip\, we are here to help. If you like advise on gear need or want any other advice we strongly recommend you stop by with your bike or pack up your bike for the trip and bring it by the shop so we can checkout your setup and make recommendations as needed. Feel free to setup an appointment or just stop on by. \nWhile this is a beginner oriented bikepacking trip\, everyone is welcome. I’m sure all of the newbies will appreciate having experienced campers along for the ride.  It’s a great opportunity to do a shake down run with new gear or a new to you setup as well as sharing experinece\, knowledge and setups. \nThis will be a no drop ride. We ride at a party pace with many stops and chances for regrouping as well as resupply. Campfire Cycling will also always have a mechanic at the back of the ride so no one is left behind in case trouble arises. There is also food available near the camp. \nPlease be prepared with all of your own camping gear\, food and water. This will be semi remote camping without many supplies nearby. Campgound has vault toilets and running water. There are businesses and a grocery store on the route with markets nearby the entrance/exit of the campground. \nProtect the Land we Ride on. For this trip we will have beautiful scenic views of the Santa Rita Mountains who’s unique environment is under threat to some heavy mining. Rosemont Canadian Company want to extract and export copper while dumping tons of wast into a mile wide hole that will seep lots of toxins into our groundwater. The Tohono O’odham Tribe as well as many conservation groups have been fighting this mine and for years. We recommend visiting: The Sky Islands Alliance\, The Calabasas Alliance\, Save the Scenic Santa Ritas. Donate\, show up to events and get involved!

SUMMARY:Advanced 2 Nighter: Gila River Ramble
DESCRIPTION:***If you would like to join this ride but it is cost or transportation is prohibitive or you cannot afford all the gear\, please let us know. \nAre You Ready for the Adventure?\n*Some details are tentative* \nWe’re really excited for a new to us route and to get our “Spring” bikepacking season rolling. We’ll be heading up toward phoenix to ride Scott Morris’ Gila River Ramble Route (Anything but a ramble\, from what I’ve heard ) it’s 110 miles and 10\,663 feet of climbing (and descending) into pure joy. Keep in mind this will be an extremely challenging route with lots of hike-a-bike\, limited water/resupply and challenging single track terrain. \nThe plan is to meet up and Start at the AZT Parking in Kelvin and then camp somewhere past mile 30 or so on the first day depending on how the wind goes up on the ridges (we might opt to ride a little further down hill to get out of the wind). Second Day we will ride through Superior for a resupply (there is an optional route we will probably include) and then camping somewhere around between mile 75-80. On the third day we will finish back at the trailhead. We will try and collect water as much as we go\, but plan on being able to carry up to 7 liters of water for safety. There will only be food resupply in superior if we plan on using that lollipop extension). \nHere’s what you can anticipate by reading about the route\, as well as read recent comments: Gila River Ramble on Bikepacking.com and from the original route on bikepacking.net. \nThis ride is advanced bike packing with challenging terrain (technical singletrack\, slickrock drops\, fair amount of climbing and low sources of water as well as a possible river forging. We recommend a hardtail mountain bike with big tires or a Full Suspension. \nRide Pace is ride at your own comfortable pace. This is not a race. We generally ride at a party pace with many meetups and stops so we can re-group and enjoy the scenery. Campfire Cycling will always have a mechanic at the back of the ride so no one is “stuck” alone at the back or incase a mechanical issue come up. \nAnticipate Temperatures to range from: 30 degrees (or slightly below) at night to low 70’s during the day. \nWe will be contacting everyone who signs up for the ride to make sure they are prepared for the challenge. Please sign up if you plan on joining us. \nProtect the land/area that we recreate on. For this ride we are very near to Oak Flat (Chi’chil Biłdagoteel). The Apache People and mining activists have fought for over a decade to protect this sacred land from a giant copper mine. You can read more about and it and get involved here. We recommend that everyone make a donation to Protect Oak Flat\, write Congress and Senate and consider getting involved in some capacity. http://apache-stronghold.com/take-action.html. We will be riding through the traditional lands of the Akimel O’odham\,O’odham Jewed\, Western Apache and the ancestral lands of the Hohokam and Sobaipuri

SUMMARY:Aspen Asphyxiation-Arizona Endurance Series
DESCRIPTION:When:\nAt 8:00am on Saturday\, June 1\, 2024 \nWhere:\nStart/End at Fort Tuthill\, big lot next to the Bike Park. \nWhere:\nAspen Asphyxiation is back in 2023 with a new route and new trails. We will start at Fort Tuthill and then shortcut through the city to Elden via Sinclair/AZT. We will then climb up the brand new Lower Brookbank and descend the gnarly Big Band/Afterglow. We will climb Dogfood and fire/flood survivors: AZT and Secret. We will connect via Freidlein Prairie Rd\, Veit Spring Trail and Snowbowl Rd to Aspen Corner. From there it’s a fun descent on AZT and Moto. We will venture into the unknown by means of Hidden Hollow Road\, Mesa Observatory forest service roads and A1 Mountain Rd. We will cross the railroad tracks via an interesting but straightforward solution. Then it’s on to Soggy Bottom Ranch Rd. to uncharted roads all the way to Rogers Lake Connector trail. Good ole FUTS and Soldier trail will take us back to Fort Tuthill. \nWater available for filtering only in Shultz Creek and Roger’s Lake (and a number of small streams which may or may not still be there by next week). \nVERY IMPORTANT: \nStart time and route are provided here and it is up to the participant to understand the route\, and also have full responsibility for their navigation and well being. Since the events are self-supportive\, it should be understood that these are for experienced adult backcountry cyclists only. If you question your ability to complete such an event\, it is best that you consider another option before trying one of these. Also\, maps\, gps devices\, water filtration units\, and other backcountry tools are methods to ensure you complete the race. Therefore it is up to you – and you alone – to ensure your safety!! \nRoute:\nAA_route \nStrava Cue Sheet: \n2023 Cue Sheet
