DESCRIPTION:At Zia Rides\, we pride ourselves our family friendly fun weekends. We might have finally outdone ourselves\, as we invite you to come spend Labor Day weekend at Glorieta Camps for what will essentially be a weekend at bike camp! In addition to a full schedule of bike races\, the weekend will also include live music\, food trucks\, games and activities for the kids hosted by our NICA NM friends\, and hopefully so much more. \nIf you haven’t been to mountain bikesyet\, the riding is phenomenal\, and the trails surround a full service summer camp with a swimming lake\, water slide\, zip lines\, a pump track\, and so many other fun things to do. And in addition to camping spots\, there are rooms onsite available to reserve for you and the whole team or family. So we mean it when we say that we want you to spend the weekend at bike camp. \nZia Rides will be leading action on Saturday with several endurance mountain bike events to choose from. The headline event is the 50ish mile “Blaze of Glori” that will take riders on most of the trails around Glorieta including the epic climb up Ghost Town.  For those that aren’t ready to get their butts completely kicked\, we are also offering the 25 mile “Path to Glori”\, which will do all of the epic singletrack around Glorieta minus the Ghost Town climb. Finally\, we want to offer something for everyone\, so we will be doing a 6 hour race\, the “Laps to Glori”\, on some of the easier trails around Glorieta including an adaptive bike category on the Route 66 adaptive trail at Glorieta. \n\n\n\n\n\n

Ride as a solo\, duo\, or team while hanging out in a family friendly venue in the beautiful Zuni Mountains. \nThis is our most popular event and provides everything that you would possibly want in an endurance race. We have an awesome venue equipped with food trucks and music\, a party atmosphere complete with movies and kid’s activities\, and an epic singletrack course. The course is a 13.5 mi. loop with a 700 ft. elevation gain and incorporates some technical rocky sections that are bound to make you smile. Wind and grind through meadows\, pines\, and aspens\, or hang up your hammock and kick back with friends and family. Whether you are going for the podium or going for the party\, everyone is welcome and we guarantee that you will have a great time.

SUMMARY:Kaibab 140 and 230 - Arizona Endurance Series
DESCRIPTION:Date says June 1\, But this in an ITT and the recommended dates are june- September\n\n \nWhat:\nYour choice of one of two loop options (140 mile and 230 mile) on the fabulous Kaibab Plateau. While there is plenty of dirt roads there are also some awesome views of the west canyon (and a little of the east side) and amazing meadows north of the park border on the AZT. There is an optional\, but totally worth it\, out and back to Point Sublime. \nWhen:\nITT. So you get to decide when you do it. Recommend June-September. \nWhere:  Here are the two options. \nThe main loop starts at Jacob Lake and follows mostly dirt roads to the north rim of the Grand Canyon. From there the route follows the Arizona Trail back to Jacob lake. This is a stout 2 days of riding\, or a more reasonable 3 day route. \nThe other option adds in a loop to State Line campground. If you have anything you would like to share (water sources\, camp spots\, etc.) please forward them on to us and we’ll get them shared here. \n– detour has been added for the Buffalo Crossing Bridge closing at mile 571.5 (12/2/2023) \nFor those interested a group of individuals will be riding 600 mile Ride Across Arizona starting May 6th. The ride requires no entry fee or formal registration (no start lists or waiting lists). The route uses public roads\, anyone can join in. They will be following the current route posted on this page. There are no fees\, awards or prizes. This is not an organized or sanctioned event in any way. Each rider is responsible for their navigation and well being. For those that want to start at the same time (Grand Depart)\, meet in the Topock Route 66 parking lot at the Arizona side of the Colorado River near the community of Topock at 6:00AM on May 6th. There is NO PARKING at the Topock Route 66 Bar\, this is just a convenient meeting place for the start located directly on the river. \nIf you own a tracking device (e.g.\, SPOT\, Garmin InReach) and would like friends and relatives to view your progress or have a record of your ride you can register your device with the Trackleaders service. More info can be found on their website: http://trackleaders.com/ They are not affiliated with AZ Gravel Rides or Ride Across Arizona. \nWe view RAAZ as a long\, hard unofficial ultra endurance cycling challenge that tests our perseverance\, self sufficiency and competence. It’s also a fantastic workout! The idea behind the Grand Depart type of start is to be able to have a like minded group of individuals on the route at the same time to boost camaraderie and safety. However\, be advised\, this is not a “group” ride. You will be on your own most of the time but might be lucky enough to encounter another rider here and there. It’s that simple. Ride as far as you feel like and above all try to remain positive and have fun. The scenery is stunning and the length of the ride becomes an adventure. \n\nUniversally Accepted Rider Etiquette:\nGeneral:\n– Complete the entire route under your own power.\n– Aerobars and their accessories are allowed\n– For the purpose of this ride a bicycle is defined as a vehicle consisting of a frame mounted on two wheels one behind the other\, and having a seat\, handlebars for steering\, two hand-operated brakes\, and propelled solely by the operator via two pedals connected to the rear wheel by a chain or belt.\n– LEAVE NO TRACE.  If you carry it in\, carry it out.  The goal is to keep the area we are rolling through better than we found it.\n– Follow all traffic laws. You must use lights when riding at night on any public road.\n– Unless you can actually see another rider coming behind you\, always close a gate you open\n– No trespassing. Please respect private property. \nPopular ways to ride the RAAZ course and accepted definitions from other similar rides:\nSelf-Supported Bikepacking (example: Tour Divide)\nSolo:\n– No support crews or caches of any kind.\n– No motorized transport along the route.\n– Unplanned support from a fellow rider is allowed.\n– Gas stations\, restaurants\, hotels\, campgrounds\, and any other commercial services along the route are fair game as long as they are not pre-arranged.\n– If your bike breaks and you wish to continue the ride\, you must hike\, walk or crawl to the next town to get it repaired. Once fixed\, you must return\, under your own power\, to the exact spot you left the route. This is a completely self-powered ride. If you get in a  motorized vehicle\, your ride is over (you may switch to the supported category**).\n– You may ride with other people\, but drafting is not allowed. \nDuo Riders (same as above except):\n– You and your partner may share resources.\n– You and your partner should stay together for the duration of the ride.\n– Drafting off your partner is allowed. \nSupported (example: RAAM)\nSolo:\n– Support vehicles allowed to follow along and provide assistance (high clearance vehicle recommended).*\n– Any number of bicycles or replacement parts may be used during the ride.\n– If a rider makes a wrong turn and rides off the event route\, regardless of the reason\, the rider must return (either riding or support vehicle) to the exact spot where the course deviation was made\, then continue riding.\n– No hand offs or mechanical support from a moving vehicle. \nRelay Team (same guidance as for supported riders except):\n– Riders share and exchange a single tracking device.\n– Riders determine when to exchange.\n– Riders can ride at the same time sharing pulls and drafting\, you decide what is best for your team. \n

DESCRIPTION:The Spring 2024 Bike Swap\n \n \n  \n \nThe largest bicycle swap in the southwest\, GABA’s Bike Swap in Tucson attracts over 5\,000 attendees and more than 40 vendors bi-annually. This Swap Meet will be held at ARMORY Park\, 6th Avenue and 12th Street. \nVENDORS\, Please Use the Vendors Registration Button off to the right (or click HERE). Spaces are assigned by the event coordinator based on the number of spaces available and the event history. The coordinator also gives consideration based on when you register\, so register early to get the best space. See the map below to locate spaces that will best display your goods. Don’t worry about being a member of GABA or not\, and go ahead and use the default non-member options while registering. While in the future I may put a price break in for members\, you are not required to be a member and there is no discount for being one. \nIf you are a vendor that collects tax from your store outside the City of Tucson\, please note that new rules have forced me to register and give out your business information to the city. Please help me determine this by indicating you’re a business on the registration page. The City will contact you with regards to a temporary vendor permit which is $25\, and they may collect tax from your sales. More information is HERE. If\, for example\, you are selling items out of a garage\, or are registering as an individual for this bike swap\, then you will not be required to register with the city. \nINDIVIDUALS: Individuals this year may register for an individual (single 10×15) space. Click the Vendors Registration button off to the right. \nNote: Don’t be left out if you’re an individual with several items you’d like to sell or swap. Reserve the new standard space today to ensure you have a place at the Spring Bike Swap. \nBUYERS: Come down to see a wide selection of bicycles and bicycle parts from around the southwest. \nI JUST HAVE ONE BIKE I WANT TO SELL: I’ve been here before too.
