Tuesday Morning Fast Ride (TMFR)

The Tuesday Morning Fast Ride, usually shortened to TMFR, is one of Tucson’s classic fast road rides. Think of it as the midweek version of the Saturday Shootout. It starts near the University of Arizona at University Boulevard and Euclid Avenue and attracts strong local riders, racers and, particularly during Tucson’s winter training season, some seriously fast visiting cyclists.

The route covers approximately 35 miles of rolling terrain and finishes with a steep climb. The pace is fast and staying with the front group can be a challenge. This is a drop ride, although as the ride breaks apart, smaller groups generally form behind the leaders.

The route heads west from the University and includes the Gates Pass and McCain Loop area, making it a beautiful ride as well as a hard one. Expect roughly 1,600 feet of climbing over the route.
