As part of the Sky Islands Adventure Ride series we have a responsibility to take care of the land and spaces we ride on as well as get to know the history. We believe it is super important to get involved and support the groups that organize and advocate for the spaces and beautiful land we have the privilege of enjoying.
Sarah has organized these amazing groups to do a panel discussion with presentations as well as some time for Questions and Answers. We recomend checking them out and sending them some extra donations and getting involved:
Indivisible Tohono is grassroots group organizing around and educating on issues impacting the Tohono O’odham Nation.
Patagonia Area Resource Alliance : Patagonia Area Resource Alliance (PARA) is a grassroots, community-driven nonprofit dedicated to the preservation and protection of local mountains, wildlife, and watersheds in and around Patagonia, AZ. No More Deaths : The mission of No More Deaths is to end death and suffering in the Mexico–US borderlands through civil initiative : people of conscience working openly and in community to uphold fundamental human rights. Our work embraces the Faith-Based Principles for Immigration Reform and focuses on the following themes: Direct aid that extends the right to provide humanitarian assistance, Witnessing and responding, consciousness raising, Global movement buildin, Encouraging humane immigration policy
Sky Islands Alliance : Our mission is to protect and restore the diversity of life and lands in the Sky Island region of the U.S. and Mexico.
