It’s not where you finish, it’s just finishing

Every year in El Tour De Tucson someone does something that really impresses me.  With the rains this year it would be easy to pick any of the 3,899 cyclist who actually completed the race.  For that matter, I could write about anyone who rode any part of the race.

Jill Clements gets my shout out for the most impressive ride of the day.  If you look in the results you will not see her name, but she did make it to the finish and picked up her medallion.  How do I know this?  Because she called me at 6:30PM in tears asking where the finish line was.  She was on 22nd street, it was dark, she had worked all day and was not about to give up.  Over 8 hours after the rainy start Jill Clements crossed the finish line.

The timer did not record it, there were no fans cheering her on, it was her  personal victory.  Way to go Jill.  You ROCK!!!
