The UA Cycling Team and Sabino Cycles Team are excited to host the 10th Annual Santa Catalina Weekend. The weekend features LaClásica San Manuel and the Race Against Time This event also serves as a fundraiser for a scholarship for the Mammoth-San Manuel Unified School District! A HUGE Thanks to everyone who donated last week to the kickstarter campaign to paint the bike Mural at 6th and Stone.  Joe Pagac was able to raise the funds he needed and has already started painting.  After I sent out the ride list there was a spike in donations. It makes me so happy seeing the community come together for one of our own.

April is bike month in Tucson. Bike Fest Tucson have created a nice calendar and have over 50 events already.  If you have a ride it is easy to add it. If I have time, I’ll add all of them to my list, but this week I’m just putting in the link. https://www.bikefesttucson.com/events/2017-04/

TORCA  April Trail Work C.D.O. This is not an easy trail to get in and out for trail work so we will be doing an overnighter for this one. Plan will be to load up Saturday 4/18/15 into a few select 4×4 vehicles and drive to the base of CDO trail on the Charlou Gap rd. We will set up camp there and then hike in for some trail work. Dinner will be provided by TORCA that evening. Next morning TORCA will provide breakfast then its back in to do more trail work.

RIDE AND EVENT DISCLAIMER

These rides are not mine.  I am only sharing the data.  The Damion Alexander Team  cannot guarantee anybody’s safety.  There are unknown and unforeseen potential hazards in every ride so you should  pay attention and take reasonable precautions.  I always use a helmet.  I think that Helmets are required when riding.  If you choose to listen to music during rides you should only use the headset in the right ear and keep the headset out of the left ear. Better yet, buy a FarEnd Gear earbud.  Communication is essential during all rides and having the ability to hear is a part of your responsibility to others.  Please also ride within your limitations. You are  not racing the Tour de France.  If you see someone  that is  not riding within their limitations or are becoming a hazard to others we should politely bring this to their your attention  Dothis for your and everybody’s safety.

Also, it is everybody’s responsibility to follow all traffic laws.  We are not lemmings.  Just because somebody does something foolish does not mean you need to follow.  Use your head and enjoy your ride.

This weeks Community Ride List includes rides for the next few weeks.  Personally, I’m planning my rides over the vacation and it was nice to see everything for a few weeks in one place.   Tucson MTB puts out a list of the 8 days of Mountain Bike Rides.  This list helps expand that to the 15 Mountain Bike Rides.  If the road is your thing there are 19 rides over the holiday season.  That does not even include the standard weekly rides.
